As an independent insurance agent, one of the most common questions I get from clients is: “What exactly is covered in my auto policy?” It’s a great question—and one that deserves a clear, straightforward answer. Whether you're driving to work, taking the kids to practice, or hitting the road for a vacation, understanding your coverage gives you peace of mind and confidence that you're protected when life throws you a curveball.

Let’s start with the basics. Most auto insurance policies are made up of several key parts. Liability coverage is required by law in Pennsylvania and covers injuries or property damage you cause to others in an accident. Collision coverage pays to repair or replace your vehicle if you hit another car or object. Comprehensive coverage protects you against damage from things like theft, vandalism, fire, hail, and even hitting a deer. Many policies also include medical payments coverage, which helps pay for medical expenses after an accident, regardless of fault.

You may also have uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, which protects you if you're hit by someone who has little or no insurance. Beyond that, optional add-ons like rental car reimbursement, towing, and roadside assistance can provide added convenience and protection. Keep in mind, every policy is a little different, and the amount of coverage you carry can have a big impact on how well you're protected—and what you’ll pay out of pocket if something happens.

If you’re unsure about your current coverage or think it might be time for a review, don’t hesitate to reach out. At The Pollick Agency, we’ll walk you through your policy, explain what’s covered, and make sure you have the protection you need—without paying for things you don’t. Call, text, or email us today for a no-pressure consultation.
